What is the fused silica Quartz?

Fused silica quartz is an industrial raw material that is used to make many types of scientific articles such as toilet spectrophotometer, potholes fluorometer, flow canal cells, quartz Microfluidic chips and many other optical products used for cytometers and flow particle sizers. Quartz silica can also be used to produce refractory shapes due to the fact that quartz material resistance thermal shock and are extremely stable elements and chemical compounds. This type of quartz can handle a high concentration of acids and not be affected. The only acid which would fused silica hydrofluoric acid. Even at low concentrations, it would have a negative effect on the material. Bowls made from this material flow channel are frequently used for applications such as cytometry, particle counting, sizing of particles and other various applications.

Fondue quartz and fused silica quartz are forms of glass which are mainly composed of silica in non-crystalline form. They are made using several different methods. Quartz formed by the material to its melting point of heating and rapid cooling (called splat-deactivation or disabling iron) are called vitresous. This term is the same as the use of the word glass, for example quartz glass.

Fondue quartz or silica is produced by the fusion of silica of purity in a special oven. This procedure is performed at extremely high temperatures, more than 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

Properties of fused silica Quartz index of refraction

Fused silica material has an absolute refractive index (ARI), measured at a wavelength of 193.368 nm, of up to approximately 1.560835. In any other mode of achieving absolute refractive index of the section of quartz is less than or equal to about 1.560820. In a third incarnation, the absolute index of refraction of quartz article is less than or equal to 1.560815. A fourth towards the quartz article has a lower ARI or equal to 1.506810. Grade IR also know that Quartz ED - C is a material synthetic fused purity silica super. IR Quartz is manufactured by the merger of ash extremely pure vacuum. It is transparent in the UV spectral regions, visible and the infrared. It has no absorption bands in the visible region and has no absorption band of OH 2 700 nm ("band of water").

It is known that degradation induced by laser negatively affects the optical performance of members of quartz silica melted by the lower levels of light transmission, altering the index of refraction, altering the density and increase the levels of absorption of the glass. Over the years, many methods have been suggested to improve the optical damage resistance of glass. He was generally known that material quartz of high purity prepared by methods such as the hydrolysis of the flame, the diseases cardiovascular-soot remelting process, process CVD plasma, electric, fusion of the Crystal of quartz powder and other methods, are sensitive to damage to various degrees of lasers.

What is synthetic fused silica Quartz?

Made from a high concentration of Silicon-rich chemicals, synthetic quartz is often formed through a process of hydrolysis of current fire. This process involves chemical gasification of silicon, oxidation of this gas to silicon dioxide and thermal fusion of the dust as a result (although there are alternative processes). The result of this process is a material of glass of transparent quartz with super high purity and better optical transmission in the UV deep aka ultraviolet, also known under the name of the ultraviolet range from Ray. One method is to add Silicon tetrachloride to a hydrogen-oxygen flame. A flame of oxygen from the hydrogen produces an intense flame that can easily melt the quartz and ensures that the quartz fuses correctly.

Only a handful of companies worldwide have the ability to make synthetic quartz material. NSG precision cells is one of those rare companies. NSG is Tosoh family member and conducts of quartz silica since the beginning of the 1930s.

NSG precision cells is well known for their ES Quartz, a unique synthetic silica material of the NSG/Tosoh only.
